Your new company

You will be joining a well-established and highly respected contractor based in Wolverhampton operating within the highways industry. This multi-accredited contractor delivers projects directly for both private and public sector clients, and has a strong reputation for quality, technical expertise and innovation. They have a strong pipeline of work and offer excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. As part of their continued growth, they are actively seeking an Estimator to join their pre-contract team. This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Wolverhampton office with hybrid and flexible working.

Working hours: 37.5 hours/week

Your new role

As an Estimator, you will play a key role within the estimating function, producing accurate and competitive cost estimates for highway projects. Working closely with engineering, design, commercial and project delivery teams, you will ensure tender submissions are commercially robust and technically compliant.

  • Reviewing tender documents, drawings, specifications and client requirements
  • Preparing detailed cost estimates covering materials, labour, plant and subcontractor packages
  • Supporting tender and bid submissions with pricing information, clarifications and supporting documentation
  • Identifying project risks, opportunities, exclusions and value engineering solutions
  • Collaborating with design, engineering, project management and commercial teams throughout the bid process
  • Attending pre-tender and post-tender meetings as required
  • Supporting the successful handover of awarded projects to delivery teams

Previous experience estimating or quantity surveying within the highways or civil engineering industries

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications

Excellent numerical, analytical, organisational and communication skills

Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple deadlines

Full UK driving licence.

Starting salary up to £50,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience)
