Overview of the position: This is a long-term temporary contract, expected to last 3 months with a starting rate of £13.68 (including holiday pay) and a basic rate (excluding holiday pay) of £12.21. The Contractor Escort role is in a unique working environment with a strong sense of team working. Purpose of the Contractor Escort role: As part of the security team, you will be responsible for assisting with the safety and security of the establishment, where your duties will include escorting building contractors. You will ensure the safety and security of the visitors, staff and prisoners within a prison establishment. You will also ensure that no unauthorised persons or items enter the establishment.
Experience: No formal qualifications or previous experience are required for this role. The nature of the role requires candidates to be security-conscious and able to challenge potential compromises and risks. You will also need to be reliable and consistent, level-headed and have exceptional interpersonal skills. Successful applicants will have a background in customer service or security, and will be assessed based on the following competencies:

Full training is provided by the establishment/department. Training time will be paid at the standard hourly rate.
Security Clearance required: All applicants will be subject to the HM Prison Service Security Clearance procedure, which can take up to 4 weeks. This can include a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check. You must hold a Valid Passport or Birth Certificate & Photo Driving Licence at your current address. All applicants must be able to provide details of 3 years of ex-employer references.
