Hays Senior Finance is working with a global company near Widnes which is owned by a larger, International Group. The business has over 30 years of operating in the UK from their modern facilities. Due to ongoing growth and restructuring of the finance department they are looking to appoint a Practice trained, qualified Financial Accountant.

As Financial Accountant you will be responsible for consolidation and statutory support for approximately 20 statutory accounts. The total UK turnover is £400m+ with locations across the UK. You will report to the Group FC with a dotted line to the UK Finance Director. You will also have day-to-day contact with the divisional Financial Controllers and maintain external relationships with the Auditors.

CORE EXPECTATIONS

  • Consolidation of monthly UK accounts including Income Statement and Balance Sheet (US GAAP)
  • Preparation of UK statutory accounts under FRS102
  • Budget & Forecast consolidation
  • Corporation tax computation preparation
  • VAT compliance
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors
  • Ad hoc reporting for other stakeholders including banking, pension trustees, Group Finance team
  • Commercial support to UK Divisional Heads of Finance at month end

EXPERIENCE/ABOUT YOU

  • ACA/ACCA qualified from a Top 10 Practice in the UK
  • US GAAP experience preferable
  • Advanced Excel with the ability to manage large quantities of data
  • Strong PowerPoint skills
  • Energetic and can be flexible in a fast-moving environment
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
  • Experience of working with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate technical matters to non-finance employees
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise a demanding workload
