Salary: Competitive + BenefitsYour New CompanyA leading data centre operator is seeking a Site Engineer II to join its mission-critical operations team in Woking.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical or mechanical engineer looking to develop their career within a highly technical and fast-paced critical environment.Working within a state-of-the-art data centre, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure that supports business-critical services.Your New RoleAs a Site Engineer II, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, testing, and monitoring of critical infrastructure across the facility.
You will support the delivery of service level agreements, maintain compliance with safety and operational procedures, and contribute to the continuous improvement of site performance.Key responsibilities include:Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on critical electrical and mechanical systems.Monitoring and maintaining site infrastructure to maximise reliability and uptime.Diagnosing faults and troubleshooting equipment failures.Coordinating specialist subcontractors and maintenance activities.Supporting incident response and participating in on-call duties where required.Producing maintenance reports, documentation, and operational records.Writing and reviewing standard operating procedures and maintenance documentation.Assisting with the planning and execution of critical maintenance activities and change requests.Supervising and mentoring junior engineers, providing technical guidance and support.Ensuring all activities are completed in compliance with health, safety, and industry regulations.What You'll Need to SucceedTo be successful in this role, you will have previous experience working within a data centre, critical environment, or mission-critical facility.You will ideally have:Experience maintaining critical electrical and/or mechanical infrastructure.A technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Building Services, or a related discipline.Knowledge of mission-critical operations and maintenance procedures.Experience working on:HV/LV Power Distribution SystemsSwitchgearTransformersUPS SystemsStandby GeneratorsChillersCRAC/CRAH UnitsCooling TowersPumps and PipeworkBuilding Management Systems (BMS)Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.Good IT literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.The ability to work effectively within a 24/7 shift environment.Excellent communication skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.Desirable:Experience with electrical switching and isolation procedures within a critical environment.Previous data centre or critical facilities experience.Authorised Person (AP) or similar HV/LV experience.What You'll Get in ReturnCompetitive salary and benefits package.Industry-leading training and development opportunities.Exposure to a highly technical, mission-critical environment.Career progression within a growing international organisation.Opportunity to work on complex and business-critical infrastructure. xsabvtc What You Need to Do NowIf you're interested in this opportunity, click 'Apply Now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or contact Tommy Bowdery at Hays Specialist Recruitment for a confidential discussion.#LI-DNI #4821538
