A reputable and growing distribution business based in Runcorn is seeking an Account Manager to join their team on a temporary contract to cover maternity leave. As Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring exceptional service delivery and acting as the primary point of contact for your clients. Working closely with operational and logistics teams, you will help maintain strong customer relationships, identify opportunities for growth, and ensure customer expectations are consistently exceeded.
- Managing a portfolio of customer accounts and developing strong client relationships
- Acting as the main point of contact for customer enquiries and escalations
- Coordinating with transport, warehouse and operations teams to ensure service levels are met
- Monitoring customer performance and providing regular updates
- Identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts and increase customer spend
- Handling customer reviews and service meetings
- Resolving issues promptly and effectively to maintain customer satisfaction
- Processing orders and supporting customers with delivery requirements
- Producing reports and analysing account performance data
- Ensuring all customer records and account information are accurately maintained
What you'll need to succeed:
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience working within logistics, distribution, supply chain or a fast-paced customer-focused environment would be advantageous
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple customer relationships simultaneously
- Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
