As a Teaching Assistant, you'll be able to support an early years child by working alongside the teacher to help manage daily routines and learning activities. You may assist small groups of children as well with tasks. Generally, you will provide support to a child 1 to 1 and be able to modify challenging behaviour if needed by creating a positive and engaging learning environment. This is a flexible and rewarding role where your contribution makes a real difference every day.
To become a Teaching Assistant, you will need to have a Teaching Assistant Qualification Level 3. You should be confident working with children with different abilities, helping with group tasks and classroom routines. A genuine passion for education and a flexible approach will help you make a positive impact every day. You should be able to support an individual child, helping them day to day and be comfortable in a classroom environment.
