We are currently seeking trustworthy and practical Property Inspection Operatives to support a short-term programme of planned maintenance room checks within student accommodation.

Due to the nature of the role, operatives will be required to access student rooms independently, therefore a high level of professionalism, integrity and attention to detail is essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out detailed room and bathroom inspections in line with a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) checklist
  • Inspecting flooring, windows, window restrictors and glazing
  • Checking lighting, power sockets and electrical fittings
  • Assessing walls, ceilings, plasterwork, tiles and sealants
  • Evaluating furniture condition (beds, wardrobes, desks, chairs, cabinets, etc.)
  • Inspecting extractor fans, fire notices and safety items
  • Identifying mould, damp or water damage
  • Accurately recording defects and observations using a computer-based system
  • Updating work orders and inspection statuses once checks are completed

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, building, caretaking or property-related role
  • Good general building knowledge and a practical, hands-on mindset
  • Comfortable using computers/tablets to complete reports and update systems
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience working within student accommodation, social housing or similar environments
  • Familiarity with PPM inspections or defect reporting

Short-term contract (2 months initially) with the opportunity for additional work depending on requirements. Competitive rates (dependent on experience).
