Your new role Location: Central BathSalary: Β£26,000 - Β£30,000 per annum (DOE)Hours: Full-timeWorking Pattern: 100% Office-BasedAbout the RoleA well-established and growing business based in the heart of Bath is seeking an organised and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their finance career within a supportive and collaborative environment.Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and excellent financial control. The role includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general finance administration duties. Key Responsibilities Processing supplier invoices and maintaining the purchase ledger Preparing and processing payment runs Raising sales invoices and maintaining customer accounts Allocating customer receipts and reconciling accounts Performing daily and monthly bank reconciliations Resolving supplier and customer queries promptly Assisting with credit control activities and chasing outstanding payments Supporting month-end processes, including accruals and reconciliations Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation Assisting with ad hoc finance administration and reporting tasks as required
What you'll need to succeed Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Purchase Ledger or Sales Ledger position Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical skills Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Experience using accounting software Strong organisational and communication skills A proactive approach and willingness to support the wider finance team The ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines Desirable AAT qualification or studying towards AAT Experience of both purchase ledger and sales ledger processes Experience working within a fast-paced commercial environment What you'll get in return Competitive salary Central Bath location with excellent transport links Supportive and friendly working environment Ongoing training and development opportunities Opportunity to broaden your finance experience and progress your career What you need to do now
