Data Project Manager required to lead key BI and digital workstreams for a local council, delivering high-impact transformation projects in a fully remote environment.
Your new organisation
We are working with a progressive local authority that is investing significantly in its digital capabilities to improve service delivery and decision-making. Due to increased demand across a number of priority programmes, the council requires an experienced contractor to lead delivery across multiple BI and digital workstreams, ensuring successful outcomes across a complex and fast-paced environment. The organisation promotes a collaborative and delivery-focused culture, with a strong emphasis on leveraging Power BI to drive insight and efficiency.
Your new role
This is a hands-on delivery and leadership role, ideal for a contractor experienced in overseeing multiple concurrent workstreams across digital and BI environments. You will take ownership of a number of priority initiatives, including the delivery of Power BI reporting projects, ensuring high-quality outputs that meet business needs. A key element of the role will be managing and delivering a Schools-focused review, assessing the use of Bromcom and existing systems, identifying optimisation opportunities, and ensuring effective utilisation. Alongside this, you will work closely with technical teams to ensure reporting solutions are delivered effectively, providing oversight and coordination rather than hands-on development. You will be responsible for managing risks, dependencies, governance, and stakeholder communication across all workstreams, ensuring delivery remains on track and aligned to organisational priorities.
What you'll need to succeed
- Strong experience as a Data Project Manager or in similar digital delivery roles
- Proven experience with Power BI (reporting and dashboard delivery)
- Strong project or programme management experience across digital environments
- Ability to work closely with BI teams (oversight rather than hands-on development)
- Experience managing multiple workstreams, risks, and dependencies
- Excellent stakeholder management, governance, and communication skills
- Experience working within local government or public sector organisations (desirable)
What you'll get in return
This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering meaningful digital transformation within a public sector organisation. Alongside a £400 per day rate and Outside IR35 status, you'll benefit from fully remote working and the autonomy to lead impactful digital and BI workstreams.
