Your New Role
The Building Engineer will be responsible for the safe and efficient operations of a retail and office facility. You will be reporting to the Operations Manager. The ideal candidate has experience as a Building Operator / Engineer on commercial and retail properties.
Responsibilities will include:
- Performing repairs as well as regular and scheduled maintenance.
- Conduct regular inspections and implement preventative maintenance programs.
- Ensure WorkSafe BC regulations are met and enforce WorkSafeBC safety standards.
- Maintain records of maintenance, inspections and equipment performance.
- Provide leadership to your team, stakeholders, and clients.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- 4th or 5th Class Power Engineer Certification is preferred or in the process of obtaining.
- Experience with mechanical, HVAC, DDC, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems.
- Prior building engineer / building operator experience.
- Strong communication skills.
