An established and forward-thinking accountancy practice is seeking a Private Client Tax Assistant to join its growing team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants hands-on experience, strong professional development, and exposure to a wide variety of client work normally associated with larger firms.

You will support the Senior Tax Adviser within the Private Client Group, assisting with a broad range of personal tax work, including:

  • Tax return preparation and review of client information
  • P11D preparation and submission
  • Managing coding notices and client correspondence
  • Ensuring statutory deadlines are met
  • Maintaining accurate client records and database updates
  • Supporting ad-hoc advisory work under supervision
  • Building strong client relationships through clear communication and timely responses

What You’ll Be Doing Day-to-Day:

  • Preparing and submitting personal tax returns and P11Ds
  • Monitoring workloads, budgets and deadlines
  • Maintaining client files and internal systems
  • Helping clients provide information promptly
  • Identifying additional work requirements and escalating appropriately
  • Contributing to the wider development of the firm

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Strong academic background (A-levels or degree) or relevant tax experience (2+ seasons)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident use of Microsoft Office
  • Experience with TaxFiler/Iris Elements (advantageous but not essential)
  • High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
