A successful FMCG business based in the New Forest near New Milton is looking for a Supply Chain Controller / Supply Chain Project Manager to handle a varied position.
This is an on-site position and a driving licence is required.
Your new role: Working closely with the Operations Director and colleagues within Supply Chain / Logistics / New Product Development (NPD), this role will oversee critical paths that enable orders to be successfully delivered On Time In Full (OTIF). You will have visibility of orders placed, check all necessary details are present, then liaise with Far East suppliers to track progress through to despatch. The logistics team will handle inbound freight and provide visibility regarding expected delivery dates, so that you can track and inform customers and internal stakeholders of any changes. You will also support the Quality function, helping with inspections of pre-production samples, and working with suppliers to ensure appropriate pre-shipment quality checks are made.
What you'll need to succeed: You will enjoy a fast-moving business environment, prioritising effectively to enable you to track multiple projects / orders simultaneously, always keeping an eye on the detail, and making stakeholders aware if you see risk. You will be commercially aware and ideally have experience of supply chain and logistics bringing products in from the Far East / China. You will be comfortable with spreadsheets and be process-focused, able to maintain order and control in an environment that is complex and involves many stages. You will be positive and a problem solver, able to be calm and make rational decisions when things don't go to plan, working collaboratively to always deliver the best possible outcome. Must have strong communication skills, be comfortable reporting issues, and making suggestions about how to resolve problems. As you gain experience within the business, you will build relationships with customers and suppliers, and be a key link in the chain.
