A well-established organisation based in Ipswich.

This is a newly created and exciting job based in Ipswich working as part of an established and experienced team. The role is to assist with the overall management of the services team.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • To be responsible for the day-to-day operation and administrative support in relation to the inboxes and diaries.
  • To be responsible for the arrangement of Mayoral Events, including Civic and Charity events.
  • Line management of the team, including casual staff.
  • To manage the budget(s), including monitoring and reporting and the preparation of estimates as required.
  • To make logistical arrangements for elections.
  • To assist in implementing the annual Operational Plan for the democratic services area.
  • To assist with the coordination and promotion of new and innovative opportunities to develop services for the future, including alternative methods of service delivery and partnership working.
  • To assist with the development and implementation of corporate projects and policies.

To succeed in this job, you will require:

  • Experience of working at a management level.
  • Working knowledge and awareness of local government issues, legislation and procedures.
  • Demonstrate ability to use technology to improve business effectiveness.
  • Experience in establishing and developing strong working relationships with a range of people from relevant organisations, including professional bodies.
  • Proven success in establishing and maintaining a performance-orientated culture which delivers efficient and effective customer services.
  • Effective project management skills.
