You will be joining a global civil engineering consultancy supporting the delivery of one of the UK's most significant major infrastructure programmes, Sizewell C. Operating within a highly integrated project environment, this organisation brings together industry‑leading professionals from project controls, commercial, finance and delivery disciplines. As part of their continued growth, they are actively seeking an Assistant Commercial Manager to join their team. This is a full-time permanent position based on site at Sizewell C (2/3 days per week) with remote working.
Your new role
As an Assistant Commercial Manager, you will work within a dedicated and dynamic cost team, supporting commercial delivery on a major infrastructure programme. This is a highly client‑facing role, ideal for a commercially astute professional who thrives in a fast‑paced project environment and is eager to develop their technical capability and leadership skills.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting contract management activities, including drafting correspondence, payment notices, change evaluation and dispute avoidance
- Assisting with cost management, including CBS/WBS maintenance, forecasting, accruals, earned value inputs and contractor claim assessment
- Providing estimating and cost planning support, including measurement, value engineering and benchmarking
- Contributing to planning, reporting and governance, including KPI reporting and commercial performance metrics
- Supporting procurement and tendering activities from strategy through to contract award
- Assisting with commercial risk management, including risk identification, quantification and mitigation

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will bring:
- Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar) or experience equivalent and membership of a relevant professional body
- Proven experience utilising NEC3 and/or NEC4 form of contract within civil engineering with either a contractor or consultancy
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a wider project team
- Full UK driving licence
