Your new company:

Our client is a well-established principal contractor operating across the UK and Ireland, delivering technically complex construction and civil engineering projects. Known for an engineering-led, commercially rigorous approach to project delivery. Active across sectors including Light Industrial, Build and Infrastructure with strong emphasis on first principles, cost control, and risk management.

You will be working on two significant Steel Frame projects in East London and Coastal Essex, including a £30M Factory.

Your new role:

We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join an established commercial team delivering engineering-led projects across London and Essex, working predominantly under NEC forms of contract. The role will involve full commercial responsibility for groundwork, structural steel, and reinforced concrete frame (RCF), managing cost and value from early works through to final account. You will procure and commercially manage site work, mainly delivered in house (with some specialist subcontractors), preparing and agreeing interim valuations and final accounts, completing monthly client valuations and internal cost reports, while working closely with site and engineering teams.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Degree-qualified Quantity Surveyor
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience with a Tier Two main contractor or groundwork subcontractors.
  • Strong understanding of 1st principles & breaking down rates
  • Experience with RCF packages / Structural steel procurement
  • Solid understanding of cost control, forecasting, and subcontract management
  • Ambitious and progressing toward QS or Senior QS level

The role is paying circa £65K package, but negotiable depending on experience. Senior Quantity Surveyors are welcome to apply.
