A newly created Strategic Sourcing opportunity working for this global manufacturing business in Suffolk. Working as part of a global procurement team with high levels of buy-in and profile, this role will take ownership of a range of key procurement projects across both assigned commodity groups and key business changes as they look to redefine their broader procurement and supply chain strategy. With high levels of autonomy and profile, there are significant opportunities for growth and career development. There is scope to mould the role to suit candidate profile so consideration will be given across a broad salary range with behavioural and cultural fit a key selection criteria.
Key areas of focus include:
- Managing end-to-end procurement activity across EMEA for the designated categories of spend;
- Undertake market research to identify industry/market trends and share/drive best practice across the organisation;
- Build strong partnerships with suppliers and drive added value;
- Take ownership of complex high-value negotiations;
- Drive stakeholder engagement and collaboration on a cross-functional and multi-site basis;
- Negotiate contracts, ensuring alignment with the company strategy with respect to cost savings and risk mitigation;
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement across strategic sourcing.
To succeed in this role requires a highly organised and self-motivated approach to your work aligned with exceptional stakeholder management and relationship-building skills. Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong commercial focus are a pre-requisite. With demonstrable procurement experience ideally from a manufacturing, automotive, aerospace or engineering background, you will be well versed in applying best-practice procurement expertise across a range of spend.
