An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and strategic leader to take on a pivotal Director role overseeing Housing, Environment and Communities services within a large, complex organisation.
This senior leadership position is responsible for shaping and delivering high-performing, customer-focused services across housing management, asset strategy and public realm. You will drive transformation, commerciality and operational excellence, ensuring services deliver strong outcomes, value for money and a positive customer experience.
Your new role
- Provide strategic leadership across housing, environment and community services, driving transformation and continuous improvement.
- Oversee landlord, customer and housing management services, ensuring strong performance, compliance and income optimisation.
- Lead the management and investment strategy for a large property portfolio, including delivery of capital programmes.
- Drive commercial performance through effective contract management, commissioning and identification of new opportunities.
- Ensure high-quality public realm services that are efficient, customer-focused and compliant.
- Lead and develop a large workforce, managing significant budgets and resources to deliver value for money and positive outcomes.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a highly experienced senior leader with a strong track record of delivering complex, customer-focused services within a large organisation.
Key requirements include:
- Significant executive-level leadership experience.
- Extensive experience in housing, asset management or place-based services.
- Proven success in leading transformation and service improvement programmes.
- Strong commercial acumen, including contract management and income generation.
- Experience managing large budgets and complex service portfolios.
- Ability to lead and inspire large teams through change.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive performance.
Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. RICS, RIBA or equivalent) and degree-level education (or equivalent experience) are expected.
