Your new company Hays are proud to be recruiting on behalf of the Western Health & Social Care Trust for a Band 3 Higher Clerical Officer. This role will support Family & Child Care services and play a key part in ensuring the smooth delivery of administrative and clerical functions across the department.

Your new role As Higher Clerical Officer, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to professionals and teams across the service. Duties will include managing diaries, arranging meetings and venues, preparing correspondence, handling telephone enquiries, maintaining filing systems, processing incoming mail, and supporting the production of reports, presentations and departmental documentation. You will also be responsible for updating information on internal systems, collecting statistical information, managing stationery supplies, and assisting with minute-taking and general office coordination.

What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this role, you should meet one of the following criteria: 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C), including English Language, and at least 1 year's administrative/clerical experience; OR NVQ Level II in Business Administration (or equivalent) and 1 year's administrative/clerical experience; OR A minimum of 3 years' administrative/clerical experience. You should also be able to demonstrate:

  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • The ability to work independently and use your own initiative
  • Experience maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Experience arranging meetings and taking minutes
  • Previous experience using the PARIS system would be advantageous
