Hours: Part-time or Full-time (4-5 days per week)

On-site / office-based

Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join a busy and supportive team based in Barlaston. This is a flexible role offering an excellent work-life balance, with hours that can be tailored around school commitments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out the full credit control function, resolving queries and managing aged debt
  • Reconcile banking transactions, producing accurate reports
  • Reconcile sales and purchase ledgers and report on variances
  • Manage end-to-end payroll, including:
  • Processing payments
  • Managing absenteeism
  • Ensuring compliance with the Pension Act
  • Submitting returns to HMRC
  • Ensure the Finance Department remains compliant with ISO9001, as well as company policies and procedures
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the HR system
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Skills & Experience Required

    • Proven experience in a Bookkeeper or similar finance role
    • AAT Level 3 qualified or Qualified by Experience (QBE)
    • Strong working knowledge of Sage Line 50 and Excel
    • Experience handling payroll and statutory compliance
    • High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
