Your new school is a vibrant and inclusive specialist secondary school in the Tameside area, catering for pupils aged 11-16 with a range of complex learning needs, including moderate learning difficulties (MLD), autism spectrum conditions (ASC), and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. We are seeking a SEND Specialist Support Assistant to join their dedicated team on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a career in special education.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of SEND needs
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
- Support pupils with emotional regulation, communication, and social interaction
- Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents/carers
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND (in school, care, or youth settings)
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
- A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through Hays
