Your new company is an established Northern Ireland building and civil engineering contractor with an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to join its delivery team on a landmark regeneration scheme in Derry. The contractor has a strong track record spanning public and private sector construction, including housing, education, community, commercial, and heritage.

The appointment will see you working under an experienced Project Manager, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management and coordination of works on site. It is an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager who enjoys being close to the build, managing subcontractors, and driving quality, programme, and health & safety.

The project itself is a £13m mixed-use regeneration scheme at Meenan Square, comprising new homes, community facilities, commercial opportunities, and enhanced shared public space. Construction is already underway on what is regarded as an important regeneration project for the wider Derry area.

Your new role: Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will support the successful delivery of the project from the current construction phase through to completion. You will coordinate subcontractors and site activity, monitor progress against the programme, and ensure works are completed safely and to the required quality standards. You will maintain a strong site presence, manage short-term programmes, assist with sequencing works, and help resolve any operational issues. You will also work closely with the wider project team, consultants, and supply chain while ensuring excellent standards of health & safety and site presentation are maintained. The community-focused nature of the development, professionalism, and considerate site management will be particularly important. The site has been registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme, with commitments around community engagement and social value forming part of the project's delivery.

What you'll need to succeed: You will ideally have previous experience working as a Site Manager, Assistant Site Manager, or experienced General Foreperson within a main contracting environment, with a strong understanding of building construction and subcontractor management. Experience delivering housing, mixed-use, commercial, community, or similar building projects would be particularly beneficial. You should be confident managing day-to-day site operations, health & safety, quality, and programme requirements while working closely with a Project Manager and the wider construction team. Construction qualifications and appropriate site management/health & safety accreditation would be advantageous.

What you'll get in return: This is an excellent opportunity to join an established Northern Ireland contractor and become part of the team delivering one of Derry's most significant current regeneration projects. You will gain exposure to a high-profile £10m+ development while working alongside an experienced Project Manager, making this particularly attractive for a Site Manager seeking to strengthen their experience on a substantial multi-faceted construction scheme. A competitive salary and benefits package will be available, dependent on experience, alongside the opportunity for further progression within the company.
