Your new company Hays Accountancy & Finance are pleased to be working with a large public sector organisation during a period of change. We are seeking an experienced Pay Modelling Specialist to support a major pay and grading harmonisation project. This is a short-term assignment with a critical role in shaping a new pay structure following a comprehensive job evaluation exercise.

Your new role:

  • Analyse and Validate Data: Review payroll outputs, verify accuracy, and ensure alignment with current terms and conditions.
  • Design Flexible Pay Models: Develop a user-friendly pay modelling tool that allows easy scenario testing, including:
  • Grade structures and pay points
  • Assimilation rules and progression pathways
  • Annual pay award assumptions
  • Premium rate multipliers and variable pay elements
  • Multi-year cost forecasting
  • Provide Costed Options: Deliver clear, costed pay model scenarios for decision-making.
  • Knowledge Transfer: Support colleagues in HR, Finance, and Payroll with training and handover of the modelling tool.
  • What you’ll need to succeed:

    • Strong understanding of payroll systems and pay structures
    • Advanced Excel skills (including complex modelling and forecasting)
    • Experience in budgeting and cost analysis
    • Ability to present complex data in a clear, accessible format
