Your new company is a London-based Engineering Consultancy, working on a variety of projects from small individual houses to large mixed-use schemes. The business is thriving, and this role is a direct result of the additional work awarded. With a healthy split across both private and public sector clients, recent projects include commercial, social housing, schools, universities, prisons, healthcare, and more.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- At least 4 years plus experience in a similar role.
- Experience in generating dynamic thermal models (using IESVE software) and performing comfort analysis, natural ventilation air-flow modelling, Building Regulations Part L assessments, and Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs).
- Non-domestic energy assessor (or equivalent) certification preferred but not essential.
- Experience with ApacheHVAC/detailed HVAC systems modelling.
- Ability to provide supporting evidence for BREEAM credits that require output from thermal models such as thermal comfort, energy and carbon reduction, potential for natural ventilation, energy monitoring, low carbon design options, and so forth.
- Prepare Low and Zero Carbon (LZC) technology feasibility studies.
- Prepare Energy Assessments/Energy Strategy documentation for supporting pre-app and full planning application for Local Authority approval.
- Ability to assist in providing strategic low energy design advice.
- Undertake energy audits for both simple building forms and more complex multiple building portfolios.
- Work with mechanical and electrical engineering colleagues providing support for client deliverables.
- Ability to read and understand the clients' briefs and identify the requirements relevant to your role.
- Very good written and verbal communication skills for both internal and external communications.
- The ability to prepare written reports of findings and present these in client-facing workshops.
- Strong interest in the importance of sustainability and willingness to develop the role to support the companies' strategic growth within this sector.
