This consultancy team provides design services to a range of clients, including water companies, Local Authorities, and Developers, who specialise in Surface Water Management (SWM), drainage design, and wastewater projects.
Role Overview:
Due to a growing workload in the UK and internationally, we are seeking to appoint a Senior SuDS Drainage Engineer. You will be part of a team within the Asset Planning and Solutions Practice, leading and shaping the dialogue and policy within the UK and internationally on integrating green-blue infrastructure into drainage, development, and master planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver engineering projects from inception to handover, ensuring they meet budget and deadlines.
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams across the UK and internationally.
- Ensure project quality meets agreed standards and specifications.
- Develop strong client relationships and propose best value technical solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers.
- Commit to Health and Safety standards and have a good knowledge of CDM requirements.
- Apply digital engineering initiatives and innovative advances in water sector solutions.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant subject.
- Previous consultancy experience.
- Demonstrable experience in Surface Water Management, drainage design, and Water Engineering.
- Proficiency in drainage design, SuDS, and relevant software (e.g., MicroDrainage, InfoWorks ICM).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Understanding of relevant legislation.
- Experience with additional software such as Civils3D or GIS packages.
- Knowledge of statutory consents, planning approvals, and assessments.
- Chartered member of ICE or CIWEM, or working towards Chartership.
- Full UK driving licence.
