In this Senior Project Manager role, you will lead delivery of client-facing construction projects across Newcastle/Stockton, applying best-practice methods throughout the project life cycle. You will nurture collaborations with stakeholders and co-locate with clients to ensure high-quality service and commercial success. The position sits in a supportive, growth‑minded team within the Buildings & Places Project & Programme Management group. Responsibilities

  • Lead management and execution of construction projects across the full lifecycle
  • Establish positive relationships with project stakeholders and act as client interface
  • Oversee commercial success, accounts governance, and resource management
  • Ensure service delivery complies with policies and standards
  • Provide guidance and technical leadership to team members
  • Mentor and develop junior colleagues
  • Support development of new business opportunities and bid submissions
  • Assist senior colleagues on large-scale projects

Key requirements

  • Degree qualification (preferably in a construction-related discipline) with postgraduate experience
  • Chartered member or working towards MRICS, CIOB, MAPM or equivalent
  • Experience in building client relationships and business networks
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and delivering projects via recognised PM methodologies
  • Experience with government education and residential projects is desirable
  • Experience administering UK building contracts (NEC and JCT) and advising on procurement routes
  • Understanding of Health & Safety and Environmental legislation in UK construction
  • Valid driving licence
