Your new company & role We are working with a prestigious family office based in London who are looking to expand and grow their team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, collaborative team, and work within a generalist capacity, in which you will get great exposure to varied work. Their office has seen significant growth in the last couple of years and, as a result, the role will involve a full scope of legal matters, including supporting the investment portfolio and philanthropic endeavours. While they have a varied portfolio, they primarily invest in funds, with their biggest asset class being venture capital, private equity and hedge funds. They are also planning to move into direct investment, making this an exciting time to join. This is a very generalist role, and you will play a key role in supporting the family office in a broad spectrum of legal matters. What you\’ll need to succeed UK qualified lawyer with 5-8 years Post Qualification Experience (guideline only), other jurisdictions with UK experience may be considered Prior experience working in a family office or the investment space, including venture capital, private equity, hedge funds, trust funds and wealth management. Experience working closely with the investment team by providing sound legal advice around tax considerations, as well as financing strategies and exit plans across multiple jurisdictions. An understanding of commercial matters, such as reviewing, negotiating and managing a significant volume of commercial contracts, including third-party supplier terms, vendor contracts, consultancy agreements. Collaborative working with internal colleagues supporting coordination across investments, finance, tax, HR and other functions.
