I'm partnering with a Magic Circle Law firm to recruit a strategic and commercially astute Senior HR Business Partner. This is a high-impact role leading the people agenda for a key fee-earning client group, working closely with senior stakeholders to drive performance, engagement, and organisational effectiveness. This role is UK focused, reporting to the Head of HR for the UK, supporting value-added strategic partnerships with the leaders of the practice. Embedded within a dynamic, client-facing practice group, this role offers the opportunity to influence leadership decisions and shape a people strategy that supports growth, talent development, and cultural transformation. The People team is currently transforming their strategic offering and delivering excellence across the business, making this a pivotal time to join.

About the role

This role is pivotal to the strategic HR leadership structure within the UK, with support from a mature centre of excellence and HR advisory support. You’ll be responsible for developing and delivering people strategy, which will be heavily aligned to business objectives. The firm is going through a period of growth, focusing on lateral partner hiring, which will impact this role. You'll be there to support through change and onboarding, with a focus on cultural and commercial alignment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a trusted advisor to Partners and senior leadership on performance, culture, engagement, organisational design, and change management.
  • Coaching and developing a team of HR Business Partners to embed best practice.
  • Driving business improvement initiatives, talent management strategies, and complex employee relations matters.
  • Building strong, credible relationships across the client group to become a valued member of the leadership team.

About you

Proven experience as a senior HR leader within Professional Services or a FTSE-listed organisation, with a track record of delivering excellence. Ideally, you would’ve been with your current employer for 3 years. Demonstrated success in supporting organisations through periods of change and transformation. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to evidence ROI and impact metrics in your achievements - key that this is highlighted in your CV/application. Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience operating at Partner/C-Suite level. Deep knowledge of the UK market, including employment law, reward, performance, and HR best practices.

Location: London (hybrid working available - 2 days a week in the City)

Salary: £90,000–£120,000 base + bonus + pension + excellent benefits
