Senior Finance Manager

Join an established business in Blackburn in a relatively new team, looking after one of their most profitable areas within the business unit, and leading a team of four qualified and part-qualified accountants.

As a Senior Finance Manager, you will lead continuous improvement within the Finance team, ensuring key financial close and day-to-day activities are completed robustly and promptly. You will act as the Finance point of contact for Operations teams and Senior Management Teams, supporting all aspects of the Management accounts and financial reporting process. Additionally, you will inspire and manage a team of part-qualified and fully-qualified accountants.

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing and overseeing the execution of Finance Project implementations
• Reviewing monthly accounts from trial balance to financial statements
• Improving internal processes
• Coordinating and reviewing the posting of journal entries
• Ensuring timely preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
• Managing the audit process
• Preparing and reviewing year-end statutory accounts (IFRS & local GAAP)
• Continuously improving financial systems, processes, and controls

To be successful in this role, you will likely have 3+ years of Post-Qualified experience (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and strong Excel skills, ideally with a background from practice. A commercial mind-set and high-level understanding of key business activities and products, as well as their impact on the Finance Team, is essential. You should be adept at aligning activities to achieve Group priorities and have a high-level understanding of the Group business and strategic plan. Competencies in communication, problem-solving, stakeholder management, planning, organising, teamwork, and decision-making are crucial for this role. You should be a confident team leader, with experience of working in a large, complex business.

You will receive a salary ranging from £57K - £67K + bonus and benefits, including 25 days of annual leave plus 8 days' bank holidays. There are also flexible working hours offered, and an option of a day per week working from home, with other days spent at their large, modern offices in Blackburn.
