You’ll be joining a large international professional services and business advisory organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Employee Relations Manager / Senior ER Manager to join a complex, commercially focused environment where Employee Relations plays an important role in managing people risk and supporting effective business decisions.
As Senior Employee Relations Manager, you will provide confident, commercially focused and risk-aware ER leadership across the business, while leading and developing a team of People Advisors. This is a genuinely hands-on Employee Relations role, so you will remain close to complex and high-volume casework rather than moving away from operational ER activity. You’ll advise managers and senior stakeholders across the UK and Ireland, helping them navigate complex employee relations issues and achieve fair, pragmatic and timely outcomes.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading, coaching and supporting a team of People Advisors
- Providing direction on complex ER casework, risk assessment, stakeholder management and escalations
- Coaching the team to improve the quality of ER advice, documentation and case strategy
- Advising managers and senior stakeholders on risk, process, available options and recommended outcomes
- Ensuring ER matters are managed consistently and in line with employment law and organisational policy
- Supporting commercially sensitive employee exits and, where relevant, restrictive covenant or post-employment matters
- Working with external legal advisers and supporting matters involving ACAS, Employment Tribunals and settlement processes
- Building a proactive, accountable and commercially aware ER advisory culture
What you’ll need to succeed:
You will be an experienced Employee Relations specialist with the confidence to operate in a complex commercial environment and remain close to challenging casework. Experience in FCA regulated environments is crucial. You’ll ideally bring:
- Strong specialist Employee Relations experience, or experience as a qualified employment lawyer working on complex and contentious workplace matters
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law
- Experience of Irish employment law or cross-jurisdictional ER matters is strongly preferred
- Experience coaching, mentoring or leading ER, HR or People Advisors is highly desirable
- The ability to provide clear, practical and commercially focused advice to managers and senior stakeholders
- Strong judgement around people risk, escalation and appropriate outcomes
- Experience producing clear, accurate and defensible ER documentation
- Exposure to ACAS, Employment Tribunal matters, settlement processes or external legal advisers would be advantageous
- CIPD qualification or equivalent experience is desirable
For candidates coming from an employment law background, you’ll need to demonstrate your ability to translate technical legal advice into practical, commercial and manager-ready guidance.
What you’ll get in return:
You’ll have the opportunity to take on a senior, influential Employee Relations position with significant exposure to complex casework, senior stakeholders and people-risk decisions across the UK and Ireland. The role offers:
- 70,000 salary
- Permanent employment
- Remote working
- Birthday leave
- Professional subscription support
- Flexible working benefits
- Professional development opportunities
