My client is a purpose-driven environmental consultancy supporting organisations across the UK to operate more sustainably while meeting regulatory requirements. They work with clients across sectors including food & drink, chemicals, waste management, construction, and engineering, helping them navigate environmental compliance and develop practical sustainability strategies. They are a growing organisation with a strong focus on innovation, collaboration, and environmental stewardship, offering a supportive and flexible working environment with opportunities for career progression.

As a Senior or Principal Environmental Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering and leading environmental consultancy projects across the Midlands, with a flexible, remote-based working model and occasional site/client visits. The role involves delivering high-quality environmental compliance and sustainability services, including audits, risk assessments, and permit applications.

You will lead projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard, while coordinating with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders. You will also contribute to delivering training, workshops, and ongoing support to clients, helping them build robust environmental management systems and meet best practice standards.

  • A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Sustainability, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience within environmental consultancy or a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation, ISO standards, and sustainability principles
  • Proven experience managing client relationships and delivering consultancy projects
  • Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of consultancy performance
  • The ability to balance technical delivery with commercial outcomes
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong project management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • The ability to build long-term client relationships and identify opportunities for growth

A competitive salary of Β£33,000 - Β£52,000 (depending on experience), ~25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, company pension scheme, medical cash plan, regular social and team events, ongoing professional development, including funded memberships and clear development pathways, remote working and autonomy to manage your own diary.
