We're recruiting on behalf of a market-leading UK safety technology company. Their solutions combine connected frontline devices with a cloud-based video evidence platform, sold on a subscription model that gives customers long-term value and the business a growing base of recurring revenue. The company is already the clear market leader within UK policing, trusted by the significant majority of forces across the country, and is now applying that same proven model to expand into healthcare and commercial security. It is profitable, in growth investment mode, and its public sector business is its largest and most valuable vertical - a multi-million pound book of existing accounts and committed pipeline, sitting within a global market that analysts expect to grow at a double-digit rate annually and more than double in value over the next decade.
Why This Role
- A market-leading vertical: you will inherit a multi-million pound public sector book with live pipeline and committed opportunities already in place, in a global market forecast to more than double in size over the next ten years.
- Ownership from day one: this is your book to run. Coaching and mentoring support is in place from the outset, with a genuine path to grow further as you make your mark.
- A genuine leadership route: for candidates who already bring proven leadership or mentoring experience, the path into managing the wider public sector team can move faster than a standard structure - it doesn't have to wait years.
- Strong earning potential: 75,000 - 100,000 base, 50% OTE paid quarterly, with commission accelerators on new logos and multi-year deals.
- Recurring, compounding revenue: the subscription-based SaaS model means your book grows year on year rather than resetting each January.
- Flexibility: a remote role with occasional visits to the London office.
The Role
You will carry full quota accountability for an established public sector vertical, with policing at its core. In the near term, this means executing a live pipeline: securing renewals and multi-year subscription agreements, closing committed opportunities and expanding existing accounts.
The longer-term focus is new business development. Many of the organisations you will target are currently mid-contract with a competitor. Your role is to build trusted relationships within these accounts well before a commercial opportunity exists, positioning the company as the preferred choice when it does - and to build the case for direct award as contracts approach renewal.
This is complex public sector selling, and sales cycles reflect that: typically 6 to 18 months, sometimes longer, and multi-stakeholder and procurement-led, progressing through frameworks, tenders or direct award. Candidates who have sold technology into the NHS, or complex solutions into local government, emergency services or central government, will recognise this pattern of sustained groundwork, senior stakeholder engagement and business cases that mature over several months before converting.
Policing experience is preferred but not essential. What matters most is credibility in complex public sector environments; the sector-specific knowledge can be developed on the job, with support in place to enable that. Candidates with police sector experience or an existing network in the sector will have a genuine advantage.
Room to Grow
This role starts as a senior individual contributor - owning and growing public sector business is the core of the job. But for candidates who already bring proven leadership or mentoring experience, that path into management can move faster than a standard structure. You'll have coaching and mentoring responsibilities from day one, with a genuine, accelerated route into leading the wider public sector team - currently six to seven people spanning Police, Healthcare and Non-Police - and deputising for the Head of Sales.
What You'll Need
- Demonstrable success selling complex, high-value solutions into the UK public sector - NHS, policing, emergency services, local or central government.
- Selling a SaaS product/service.
- A track record of managing long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles (6-18 months or more) and navigating public sector procurement, including frameworks and direct award.
- Credibility and gravitas with senior stakeholders, with a demonstrated ability to influence executive-level decisions in large, complex organisations.
- 5+ years in B2B sales with accountability for both account growth and new business development.
- Experience building commercial relationships where the return was 12 months or more away.
- A self-directed, results-driven approach, with the ability to sustain activity that pays off over the longer term.
- Proficiency with Salesforce and disciplined pipeline management.
A Genuine Advantage
- Police sector experience or an existing network within UK policing.
- A structured sales methodology (MEDDPICC, Challenger, SPICED or equivalent).
- Prior experience in a senior account executive, team lead or player-manager capacity.
What's In It For You?
- 75,000 - 100,000 base with 50% OTE, paid quarterly.
- Commission accelerators: double on new logos and multi-year deals.
- Recurring SaaS revenue within your book, providing compounding value year on year.
- Coaching and mentoring from day one, with an accelerated path to leading the wider public sector team for those who bring proven leadership experience.
- Private medical insurance, birthday off, holiday purchase, 2pm Friday finish.
- Employee assistance programme and pension scheme.
- Remote working with occasional visits to the London office.
