Hays Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a Warrington-based single form entry primary school as they are looking to appoint an experienced, motivated, and Level 2 qualified teaching assistant to support within their designated provision on a full-time temporary basis for the remainder of the academic year. This is an extremely exciting opportunity to join a welcoming and supportive school that has an extremely experienced and supportive senior leadership team.
Within this role you will be joining a small class of 8 KS1 pupils that all have profound ASC (Autistic Spectrum Conditions) that do not have a capacity. You will work alongside the class teacher to promote an engaging and stimulating learning environment by taking a pupil-centred approach to education, ensuring that individual needs and responses are catered to. The pupils you will be supporting are not working at the KS1 national curriculum, with the majority having the mental capacity of children aged between 0 – 18. Your core duties will include:

  • Sensory play/development
  • Completing personal/intimate care
  • Implementing positive behaviour strategies i.e., sensory rooms, pressure therapy, positive reinforcement, etc
  • Completing learning journeys and working towards EHCP\’s
  • Direct liaison with parents/guardians on pupil progress and further requirements

What you\’ll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full \’Right to Work\’ in the UK, have recent relevant and referenceable classroom experience, and:

  • Be at least Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualified
  • Have experience supporting SEN (ASC is highly advantageous)
  • Be able to commit to a full-time contact consisting of 32.5 hours per week
