About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and patient SEMH Teacher to join our Alternative Provision in Middlesbrough. As an SEMH Teacher, you’ll work with a small class of pupils who have challenging behaviour and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. This role is available for immediate start and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and create engaging and exciting lessons.
  • Support pupils in their work and regulate challenging behaviours.
  • Collaborate with parents, staff, and support personnel.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively.

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS registered with the update service or willingness to apply for one.
  • PGCE with QTS.
  • Confidence in teaching functional skills.
  • Experience working with children and young people with SEMH and challenging behaviour.
