Your new company
HMP Erlestoke is a Category C prison holding adult male sentenced offenders.
Your new role
HMP Erlestoke is currently undergoing site improvements and expansion, and we are looking for a number of operational security officers to join the team.Working as a Security Officer, you will be working alongside the operational security team. You will be responsible for escorting/assisting contractors as they carry out maintenance work around the prison, visitor checks, toolkit checks, main gate duties and vehicle searches. You will assist with the safety of visitors around the site and ensure no unauthorised items enter the site. Hours: Monday to Friday-8-4.30pm (with the opportunity to work overtime)
Rates – All Inclusive of holiday Standard £13.75 P/h Weekday overtime : £18.28 p/h
Weekend overtime: £24.06 p/h
What you’ll need to succeed
You will not require previous experience as you will receive full on the job training. You will need to be a strong communicator, level-headed and security conscious. You will be able to work well in a team and have excellent interpersonal skills. You will be required to provide 2 satisfactory references and will be subject to full prison clearance.
What you’ll get in return
This position will give you great insight into the everyday running of prison life and could lead to long-term permanent roles within the prison service, such as an OSG or Prison Officer.
