We are seeking an experienced Scala Developer to join a major public sector digital transformation programme focused on delivering modern, user-centric services that support the UK government's Making Tax Digital (MTD) initiative. This programme is helping transform the UK tax system through innovative digital solutions and cloud-native technologies.
Working within a mature Agile environment, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, develop, deploy and support high-performance Scala-based microservices. You'll play a key role in delivering modern digital services that directly impact millions of users.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Strong commercial experience with Scala
- Experience developing applications using Play Framework
- Strong knowledge of unit testing and integration testing
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience developing and supporting microservices architectures
Desirable Skills:
- Cloud-based infrastructure experience
- Understanding of application security principles
- Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
- Test-Driven Development (TDD)
