Your new role
As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will take a lead role in delivering electrical building services designs from concept through to completion. You will be responsible for overseeing project delivery, supporting and mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring high technical standards across all work.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing and reviewing electrical designs, calculations, specifications and reports
- Leading electrical design packages across multiple projects, ensuring delivery to programme and budget
- Coordinating with mechanical engineers, CAD/Revit technicians and external consultants
- Attending and leading client meetings, design reviews, and site visits
- Carrying out site inspections and ensuring quality and compliance on projects
- Ensuring all designs comply with UK Building Regulations, BS 7671, and industry standards
- Managing workload across projects while contributing to team performance
You will work across a wide range of sectors including commercial offices, industrial facilities, education, healthcare, residential, hotels and leisure, as well as MOD and secure infrastructure projects.
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
- Proven experience delivering electrical building services designs within a consultancy environment
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, UK Building Regulations and IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
- Experience leading projects and managing electrical design delivery
- Ability to mentor and support junior engineers
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
