Are you a Graduate/ Junior Electrical Design Engineer who is looking to work on technically challenging, high-value and rewarding projects in a specialist sector like the pharmaceutical sector? Then this is the role for you!
This is an opportunity to join a well-established Building Services Contractor with over 25 years of experience delivering bespoke M&E solutions on projects valued up to £100m.
The Role
You will be assisting senior engineers with electrical design and delivery of complex building services projects. Working alongside a highly skilled engineering team, you will have a great opportunity to gain a great level of exposure and direction from experienced professionals. This role is ideal for an engineer who has a year or two under their belt and is looking for quality training.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and specification of electrical building services systems
- Produce detailed calculations and design using industry software such as Amtech, Electrical OM, Relux, and Revit, but happy to train up on any software for the right candidate
- Prepare design drawings, technical specifications, and tender documentation
- Produce designs and drawings of fire alarms, access doors, lighting, emergency lighting and more
- Attend design team meetings, site visits, and inspections as required
- Ensure designs comply with current legislation, standards, and best practice
Key Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
- Minimum 1-5 years of experience in electrical building services design
- Working experience with design software
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and codes of practice
- Working towards membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIBSE) desirable
- Full UK driving licence preferred
