A London-based local authority is seeking an Interim Registered Building Inspector (Class 2) to support its Building Control service on a contract basis. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with Building Regulations across a varied portfolio of developments, contributing to statutory functions and service delivery during a period of increased workload.
Your new role
- Undertaking site inspections across a range of residential and commercial developments
- Assessing plans and applications for compliance with Building Regulations
- Providing professional and technical advice to applicants, contractors and internal stakeholders
- Supporting the local authority's statutory and enforcement responsibilities
- Working autonomously while contributing effectively to the wider Building Control team
What you’ll need to succeed
- Registered with the Building Safety Regulator as a Class 2 Registered Building Inspector
- Experienced in working within a local authority Building Control environment
- Confident in managing your own caseload and working to statutory timescales
- Knowledgeable across current Building Regulations and associated legislation
- Able to work on an interim basis and hit the ground running
