Your New Role
As Recruitment Officer, you\’ll be at the heart of a busy HR department, supporting the full recruitment lifecycle and onboarding process.
You\’ll be a visible and operational presence, working closely with hiring managers to deliver a high-quality, proactive recruitment service.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Managing the end-to-end recruitment processes, from job adverts to appointment.
- Use e-recruitment systems to handle applications, candidate communications, and status updates.
- Coordinate interview logistics, including room bookings, virtual interviews, and travel arrangements.
- Draft and issue offer letters, conduct right-to-work checks, and liaise with Occupational Health.
- Maintain accurate personnel records and ensure compliance with GDPR and Home Office regulations.
- Support onboarding and induction processes for new starters, students, and visitors.
- Produce recruitment-related reports and statistics and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with HR colleagues and act as a point of contact for recruitment queries.
- Represent HR on interview panels and advise on best practices.
What You\’ll Need:
- Degree in HR, Recruitment, or a business-related subject (or equivalent experience), or CIPD Level 5.
- Proven experience in recruitment, ideally in-house, with knowledge of UK immigration and right-to-work checks.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with recruitment systems.
- A proactive, customer-focused approach and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience of working within an academic environment or a not-for-profit organisation (desirable).
