Your new company is a leading regional supplier within the industrial and construction sectors, serving a diverse customer base across the UK. Renowned for their commitment to quality, customer service and long-term partnerships, they have established themselves as a trusted name within their industry. They are now looking to recruit an ambitious Sales Executive to support the growth of both existing and new accounts in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. This role is full time permanent, Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm. Salary is negotiable but would be around £28,000 - £32,000 depending on experience relevant to the industry. On site 5 days a week in Cullompton.

Purpose of the Role

To develop sales revenue by managing existing customer accounts, identifying new business opportunities, promoting the companies products and services, and ensuring customers receive excellent service.

Account Management

  • Manage and develop an existing portfolio of customer accounts.
  • Build strong relationships with customers to ensure the company remains their preferred supplier.
  • Conduct regular customer contact by telephone, email, and meetings.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales within existing accounts.

Business Development

  • Prospect and generate new business opportunities.
  • Cold call potential customers to introduce the companys products and services.
  • Develop relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Follow up leads and convert enquiries into sales.
  • Promote the full range of products and processing services.

Sales & Quotation Management

  • Prepare and issue customer quotations.
  • Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within company guidelines.
  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Maximise profit margins while remaining competitive.
  • Work towards and achieve sales targets and KPIs.

Customer Service

  • Respond promptly to customer enquiries.
  • Resolve customer issues and complaints professionally.
  • Maintain excellent customer relationships through high levels of service.
  • Provide product information and technical guidance where required.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous sales experience, ideally in a Sales Executive, Internal Sales, Account Manager, or Business Development role.
  • Preferably experience within the steel industry.
  • Alternatively, experience selling into the construction sector would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience managing and growing existing customer accounts.
  • Experience identifying and winning new business opportunities.
  • Comfortable working in a target-driven sales environment and achieving sales objectives.

Key Skills Required

  • Strong relationship-building skills with customers and key decision-makers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence in cold calling and business development activity.
  • Ability to overcome objections and negotiate effectively.
  • Highly motivated, driven and tenacious approach to sales.
  • Strong customer service and account management skills.
  • Good IT skills, including familiarity with CRM and ERP systems.
