Quantity Surveyor (Northern Ireland Projects)

Hays are delighted to present you with an exciting opportunity to secure a permanent position as a Quantity Surveyor with a growing medium-sized contractor based in County Down. Your new company has built an enviable reputation within the local construction industry for the delivery of bespoke, high quality build and civils projects over a wide and varied range of construction in both public and private sectors. They offer a wide range of services to the Residential, Educational, Commercial and Health Care sectors. Established over 20 years ago, they continue to grow and develop and therefore now require a Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial Team.
Your new role
Within your new role you will manage projects worth up to £2m. You will be responsible for providing Quantity Surveyor functions as well as the procurement of all materials. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director and working closely with the Operational Team you will be responsible for the delivery and management on a number of different projects as well as providing regular updates on the performance of on-going projects. You will be predominately office based, spending time on site as and when required. Additionally, this is an NI-based role meaning you will not be required to travel to the UK.
What you\’ll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying and have at least 4 years\’ experience within a similar role. You will be commercially and contractually aware with a good working knowledge of construction and engineering contracts. Additionally you must be IT proficient and preferably demonstrate experience in the use of construction software packages. Strong negotiation skills and effective time management will be essential for the role.
