PROJECT ENGINEER NEEDED FOR SEVERN TRENT WATER PROJECTS – INSIDE IR35 UP TO £500 PER DAY

Job Description:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Freelance Project Engineer to join our team for Severn Trent Water projects in the Midlands. This role is with one of our Tier 1 contractors and offers an immediate start with a long-term contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating various project engineering functions, ensuring the successful delivery of water treatment projects.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Temporary Works:
    Manage and oversee temporary work and temporary treatment processes.
  • Buildability Support:
    Review and contribute to buildability support.
  • ITP/ITF Creation:
    Work with design and commissioning teams to create Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Inspection Test Forms (ITFs).
  • Supplier Engagement:
    Engage with suppliers and coordinate with site teams to ensure equipment is ordered, delivered, and documented correctly (RAMS and QA documentation).
  • TQ Process:
    Assist and track Technical Queries (TQs) from the supply chain to design.
  • Project Engineering Functions:
    Performing common project engineering tasks, including:
    • Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
    • Clip Programme management
    • Collaborative planning support
    • Site meetings
    • Supervision of Tier 2 contractors if required
    • Assistance and support to the Project Manager
    • Working with design teams
    • Maintaining OWL/Action trackers with the Project Manager

Qualifications and Experience:

  • SSSTS (minimum), SMSTS (preferable)
  • CSCS Card:
    Black preferred, Silver/Gold accepted
  • Relevant Qualification:
    HNC or above in Mechanical and Electrical (M&E)
  • Temporary Works:
    Experience in managing temporary work
  • MS Office Proficiency:
    Including Microsoft Project (MSP)
  • Multi-Discipline Experience:
    Preferred in both Mechanical and Electrical
  • Tier 1 Waste Water Treatment Experience:
    Minimum of 5 years
  • Over Pumping Knowledge:
    Good understanding of the over-pumping process (not dewatering)
  • Buildability Support:
    Experience in reviewing and contributing to buildability
  • ITP/ITF Creation:
    Experience in working with design and commissioning teams to create ITPs and ITFs
  • Supplier Coordination:
    Experience in engaging with suppliers and coordinating with site teams
  • TQ Process:
    Experience in assisting and tracking TQs from supply chain to design
