Your new company Hays Senior Finance are delighted to be partnered with our client in the Professional services sector as they recruit for a Project Accounting Manager. As part of an exciting growth period, our client has ambitious plans as they move forwards with a substantial project which will set the business apart as a UK market leader. The Project Accounting Manager is a 6-month contract role suited for a Qualified Accountant with strong experience in a project environment of a transformational nature involving end-end business as usual activities. Our client is based in Glasgow city centre with a great hybrid working policy defined by the employee and favourable terms and conditions including 33 days\’ holiday, 8% pension and company-specific perks. The role is starting in January and therefore candidates will need to be on no more than 4 weeks\’ notice. The salary on offer is between 65,000 – 70,000 per annum. Our client has an excellent culture with a strong emphasis on development and process improvement and there is a strong likelihood of extension for the right person. Your new role The Project Accounting Manager will be a qualified Accountant with extensive experience in Accounting due diligence, financial control and project planning. You will have a wide scope of responsibility ranging from balancesheet review and working with the management accounts teams to detailed project planning across transactions and general ledger accounting processes. You will ensure the smooth integration of accounting processes and milestone planning, leading the charge for status updates on accounting processes and tracking progress. The Project accounting manager will assist in the delivery of financial results with the Management Accounts team and balancesheet review providing analysis and commentary as part of the month-end process. This is a commercial role involving project and technical accounting skills and will engage with a number of stakeholders within and outside of finance. You will participate in regular calls with the company and head of projects on progress and common issues. This is an exciting and varied project where you will have autonomy to put your own mark on the role and add value. What you\’ll need to succeed You will be a fully qualified accountant with exposure to a project accounting environment. You will have experience in a large, complex accounting structure, ideally in financial services or similar industry, with sound communication and leadership skills. What you\’ll get in return You will receive a salary of 65,000 – 70,000 per annum plus benefits. The contract will be initially for 6 months with the opportunity of extension or a permanent role. You will work a 37-hour working week with a hybrid working pattern, company-specific benefits and a fun and sociable working environment.
