Water Modeller, Hydraulic Modeller,Urban Catchment Modeller
Your new company Hays are currently recruiting for a Principal Urban Catchment Modeller to be based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The candidate will be working with the Surface Water Management (SWM) national team where you will join a multidisciplinary group with a nationwide focus.
We are working in partnership with a world-leading design, engineering and project management organisation dedicated to engineering a better future for everyone. The company is committed to delivering end to end service to their clients across the whole life cycle from Capital, Consulting, Decommissioning, Engineering and Design, Operations and Maintenance, Project and Program management up to Project Delivery.
Your new role The Principal Urban Catchment Modeller will engage in diverse projects related to stormwater management, Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), wastewater, and integrated networks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting feasibility studies, scoping projects, and performing catchment drainage studies using computer modelling.
- Analysis to support operational and environmental recommendations or other interventions.
- Manage technical and project aspects of surface water management initiatives.
- Assist in building and maintaining relationships with key clients, including water companies and other organisations, to foster growth.
- Aid in the preparation of bid documents and cost estimates.
- Oversee project teams and assist the Business Manager with resource planning.
- Encourage staff development through training, hands-on experience, and personal growth.
- Participate in technical innovation and improvement workgroups.
What you’ll need to succeed To be successful in the Principal Urban Catchment Modeller role you must have the following qualifications and skill:
Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography or other related field5 years work experience in the same fieldKnowledge of the water environment and sustainability
Experience working on surface water management projects.Understanding of UK Water Industry and regulatory issues.Experience in integrated drainage modelling.Competence in the use of Hydraulic modelling software (ideally ICM).
