Our client is a wellstablished design consultancy with 30+ years of experience in buildingservices, Energy, Sustainability, Lift & IT fields based out of Glasgow\’scity centre.
Their team of expertdesigners cover all tradition Building Services elements, enhanced by theirskillset in the Energy and Sustainability with BREEAM.
The vast majority oftheir projects are intricate, complex and unique MOD and defence contracts,requiring high standards of work across the board.
Due to the nature oftheir work, all candidates will need to hold, or meet the criteria to holdsecurity clearance to MOD SC level.
Your new role
- Ensuring an understanding of project briefs, design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems.
- Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems – power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection etc.
- Carry out the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, Dialux, Amtech, in-house developed tools, etc.
- Representing the organization at meetings with clients and contractors.
- Site surveys, inspections and monitoring of site works.
- Report and technical note writing.
- Maintaining complete records and archives to company standards.
- Adherence to all quality, environmental and governance processes.
- Input into fee estimates and bid process.
- Support associates and director with resource planning and managing team workload.
- Mentoring and guidance of junior to intermediate engineers.
What you\’ll need to succeed
- Accredited Building Services/Electrical Engineering degree
- Chartered engineer or working towards chartership.
- Ability to manage and deliver electrical building services engineering designs across a range of sectors.
- Experienced in project lead and delivery of electrical services across multiple projects
- Conducting any or all stages of electrical design from concept to completion.
- Take design lead on projects promoting design excellence at all times.
- Experience in digital tools including AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, Relux, Amtech, NBS, etc.
- Proven knowledge basis of renewable technologies.
- Fully conversant with technical and legislation requirements for electrical services equipment and installation design and management.
- Able to take charge of project deliverables, make decisions on developing the discipline design elements, act on own initiative and operate in a pro-active way.
- Strong communication and people skills.
- Ability to influence and negotiate both internally and externally with an open and inclusive style.
- Consulting closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors of in-house and external project teams.
- Strong report writing skills.
- Experience of producing and supporting fee estimates and bid writing would be beneficial.
- Able to generate a programme and produce progress reports against this.
- Experience in managing and mentoring junior to intermediate engineers.
- Holds (or meet the criteria to hold) security clearance to MOD SC level.
