Our client is one of the largest multi-disciplinaryconsultancies in the world, and is currently seeking a qualified andenthusiastic Principal Electrical Building Services Engineer to support anddevelop the project delivery capabilities of their busy and successful buildingservices team.
Candidates will successfully lead and delivermultiple, medium complexity projects without supervision, or packages of highcomplexity projects under the direction of more experiencedstaff. You will provide advice to clients and will take responsibilityfor managing and cultivating client relationships and securing new work. Youshould be able to lead, or demonstrate the competency to lead, a team of lessexperienced staff as you may have line management responsibility.
Project work will vary and you will have experienceacross a range of sectors including life sciences, defence, education,commercial, residential, renewable energy, industrial, retail, healthcare andleisure within both public and private domains.
Your new role
In this role you will be responsible for all aspectsof design in the delivery of electrical engineering consultancy services for aportfolio of projects. You will be responsible for; undertaking calculations,production of drawings, producing specifications and reports, conducting sitesurveys, conducting construction stage duties, providing client liaison,consulting with members of design/construction teams and any other relevantduties required to comply with project briefs.
Producing and reviewing electrical design drawingswill be key to your role. Experience of using Autodesk Revit MEP would bebeneficial. If required further training in Revit and other systems willbe provided.
You will have the passion and drive to deliver andmanage projects in accordance with the client\'s brief and programme, and tohelp develop good client relationships. You should be capable of managing yourown workload and the workload of others, updating forward plans of workloadregularly & working to time allocations.
What you\'ll need to succeed

  • Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering/Electrical Engineering or related subjects.
  • At least 8 years of experience in electrical design engineering and building services projects.
  • Production and review of detailed design calculations for all aspects of electrical design.
  • Production of specifications and plant schedules.
  • Production of design notes, basis of design and RIBA stage reports showing compliance with standards and best practice.
  • Production of design drawings from conception through to detailed design.
  • Conducting detailed site surveys and inspection of installations.
  • Mentoring and guidance of junior to intermediate engineers.
  • Input into fee estimates and bid process.
  • Support associates and director with resource planning and managing team workload.
  • Holds (or meet the criteria to hold) security clearance to MOD SC level.
