Your new company A leading global financial services organisation is investing heavily in the growth of its trading and risk technology capabilities.
As part of a strategic transformation, they are building a next-generation Trading Data Lakehouse platform to support critical front-office and risk reduction initiatives across the business.
Your new role As a Principal Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and engineering a greenfield Trading Data Lakehouse platform.
Working as part of a global engineering function, you will help define the target architecture while remaining hands-on in the delivery of cloud-native data solutions.
You will be responsible for platform engineering, metadata management, data lineage, governance and data visualisation capabilities, helping to build a scalable platform that supports complex trading use cases.
This is a highly visible role with significant influence over the future direction of the platform and wider team growth.
What you'll need to succeed Extensive experience delivering enterprise-scale Data Lakehouse or Big Data platforms Strong hands-on experience with Spark and cloud-native data technologies Expertise in data architecture, platform engineering and distributed data systems Experience with open table formats such as Iceberg, Delta Lake or Hudi Strong understanding of metadata management, data lineage and data governance Experience delivering greenfield data platform programmes Financial services experience, ideally within trading, market data or risk environments Ability to operate independently while collaborating with global engineering teams Private cloud experience would be highly advantageous What you'll get in return Access to market leading technologies Hybrid working arrangements.
