The Role
Hays are seeking an experienced Interim Audit Senior to support an established Audit team on an initial contract of up to 12 months. Reporting to the Director, you will play a key role in the day-to-day planning, organisation and delivery of audit assignments, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical audit experience, the ability to manage a portfolio of clients, and confidence working in a fast-paced professional practice environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Management
- Manage a portfolio of audit clients
- Support fellow auditors and Directors through the compliance process
- Maintain strong client relationships via telephone, email, online meetings and face-to-face contact where appropriate
- Build rapport to clearly understand client expectations and deliver high levels of service
- Audit Delivery
- Plan, prepare and finalise audit assignments
- Liaise with other service lines where clients receive multi-disciplinary services
- Apply current legislation and professional standards accurately
- Identify planning opportunities and escalate advisory or cross-sell opportunities where appropriate
- Risk & Compliance
- Adhere to the firm's client take-on and risk management procedures
- Identify and mitigate risks, escalating issues to the Director as required
- Maintain strong awareness of professional standards, ethics and compliance requirements
- Technical & Team Support
- Keep technical knowledge up to date
- Support and coach team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of work
- Contribute positively to team performance and wellbeing
- Operations
- Take responsibility for invoicing and accurate record-keeping for your portfolio
- Monitor and manage own time, completing timesheets accurately
Skills & Experience
- ACCA or ACA qualified
- Minimum of 3 years' experience within professional practice
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable working independently and within a team
- Confident in a technology-driven environment
