Hays Property & Surveying are pleased to be working with a leading Local Authority to provide an Interim Maintenance Surveyor within Central Hampshire.
Your new role
As a Building Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services across a residential housing portfolio. Reporting to the Senior Building Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:
- Diagnosing and specifying day-to-day repairs
- Conducting stock condition and measured surveys
- Managing contractors and ensuring value for money
- Advising on building-related legislation and health & safety compliance
- Using IT systems to update data and produce reports
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in residential housing property maintenance
- Solid understanding of building construction and pathology
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, including asbestos and working at height regulations
- Ability to manage contractors and resolve disputes
- Commercial awareness and cost control expertise
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and surveying software
- Strong planning, organisational, and interpersonal skills
