Your new company
A purpose-driven organisation based in the West Midlands is looking to appoint a PMO Lead to embed a centralised PMO function. This role plays a key part in supporting the delivery of a wide-reaching transformation programme focused on improving services, operations, and outcomes for customers.
Your new role
As PMO Lead, you\’ll take the lead in embedding a central PMO capability that brings structure, visibility, and assurance to a diverse portfolio of change initiatives. Working alongside senior stakeholders and delivery teams, you\’ll ensure governance, planning, and reporting are consistently applied across the organisation. Your responsibilities will include embedding and evolving a central PMO capability, coordinating governance activity and executive-level reporting, and providing delivery assurance across programmes and projects through RAID log reviews, documentation checks, and compliance. You will also support benefits tracking and resource planning, oversee risk and issue management across the portfolio, and lead the implementation and management of a portfolio management tool. A key part of the role will be ensuring best practice is embedded across the organisation, driving consistency in areas such as risk and issue management and governance standards.
What you\’ll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will bring experience of leading a PMO or portfolio function in a complex environment, with a strong grasp of governance, risk and issue management, benefits realisation, and assurance. Above all, you\’ll excel at building trusted relationships and influencing senior stakeholders to drive alignment and effective decision-making. Strong portfolio and project assurance experience is essential, and exposure to PPM tools, particularly in implementation or administration, will be highly valued. Public sector experience is helpful but not essential, and a recognised qualification in project, programme, or portfolio management, such as PRINCE2, MSP, or P3O, is required.
What you\’ll get in return
You\’ll receive a competitive salary and benefits package, hybrid working, and the opportunity to shape and embed a new PMO function. You\’ll be part of a collaborative, inclusive culture and play a key role in delivering meaningful change across the organisation.
