Your new company
You will be working for an organisation based in Birmingham. The requirement will be to be on-site 2-3 days a week. This role is inside scope of IR35 and a 3 month contract with a possible extension.
Your new role
The PMO analyst will work closely with the Head of PMO (programme management office) and the PMO team to support and enable the successful delivery of the programme, across the programme workstream structure through the analysis of data and provision of insights.
The PMO analyst will effectively manage a variety of processes and tools that analyse programme information from different sources and transform it into actionable insights that inform strategic and tactical programme decisions.
With an in-depth understanding of the importance of data-driven decision-making, the PMO Analyst will collaborate with programme colleagues to provide objective, relevant, clear, and timely insight and analysis.
This role involves analysing programme and workstream data, financial information, operational performance and Oracle trends to support planning, identify opportunities, optimise operations, enhance programme and stakeholder satisfaction, while supporting a programme-wide adherence to data governance.
The analyst will follow applied governance to monitor and report on key elements of the delivery through the life cycle, providing recommendations to project managers and PMO managers for continuous improvement.
Summary of key responsibilities:
- Provides PMO services including maintaining plans, financial monitoring, decision-making support, benefits tracking, maintaining risks, issues, actions and assumptions. In addition, they will ensure dependencies are clearly identified, tracked, monitored and managed effectively.
- Co-ordinate the production of reports to support governance, by collating, analysing, evaluating and manipulating data, records and other information.
- Ensures that the PMO document library is maintained and that registers, logs and key documents and information are kept up to date. Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the PMO processes and tools and systems.
- Provide education, training and first line support on the agreed PMO processes, procedures and tools to programme team members.
- Support the Head of PMO and the programme leadership team in championing and embedding programme management, project management and PMO best practices.
- Work with the Head of PMO to undertake the role of improvement manager for one or more key PMO services for the programme.
- Act as facilitator in programme events as and when required.
- Assurance and regular health checks across the programme governance structure.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
- Data analysis and management applications and tools in PMO and programme management data including (E.g., ERP systems, document management systems, Programme and project management systems).
- Understanding of the principles of programme intelligence and the value it can add.
- Good commercial understanding.
- Statistical information and how to present it.
- Importance of strong and effective data governance.
- Prior knowledge of developing programme and project insights, modelling, data aggregation and GDPR.
